Cookie policy

The short version
Motorkeep sets only the cookies needed to make the site work: one to remember your place in a quote, and — if you have an account — the ones that keep you signed in. We run no advertising cookies, no profiling, and nothing that follows you to other websites.
Because these are strictly necessary, UK law (Regulation 6(4) of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) does not require us to ask your permission. So we don't show a consent pop-up asking for something we don't need — we just tell you what we set, below.
Cookies we set

Both are first-party cookies, marked HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, and served over HTTPS in production. They cannot be read by other websites or by scripts in your browser.
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics to count page views and understand which pages are useful. Plausible is cookieless and does not track individuals — it stores no cookie on your device, collects no personal data, and does not build a profile of you across sites or visits. There is nothing here to opt out of, because nothing is stored on your device.
We also record aggregate events on our own servers — that a quote reached a given step, or that a listing was viewed. These are tied to the quote itself, not to a tracking identifier in your browser.
What we don't do
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No third-party trackers, pixels, or social media widgets.
- No selling or sharing of personal data with data brokers.
- No cross-site tracking or fingerprinting.
Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Because ours are strictly necessary, blocking them has a practical cost: the quote form will lose your progress between steps, and you will not be able to stay signed in to an account. Nothing else on the site depends on them.
Changes
If we ever introduce a cookie that isn't strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent before setting it, and update this page. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
